Kansas and I got to go for a ride the other day with the grandsons. It was a absolutely beautiful day. I got a sunburn on my face that day but it was well worth it. We seen some beautiful scenery and got to spend some quality time together. Kansas loves to spend time with me and I love spending time with him. I took some pic's to share with everyone but the pic's don't do the scenery any justice. it was absolutely beautiful. Happy trails everyone.

Kansas and I trip to Missouri and Arkansas
Well my last post was how excited we was to take our trip together to Missouri to finalize dads stuff and arrange dad's memorial.  Kansas, Deasyl (our great grandson) and I headed out for Missouri on April 30th. Our first day we drove to Sidney, Nebraska and stopped at Cabela's to camp that night because they have pens for horses there and Its a really nice little place to lay over with your horses. The next day Deasyl and I got up, fed and hayed Kansas and decided to go shopping for a bit to kind of give Kansas a little more of a break before we hit the road again. We went to walmart and done some shopping then we out to eat. We headed back to load Kansas and head out to Missouri. We got into Indian State Park in Nemaha, Nebraska that night about midnight Deasyl and I unloaded Kansas and put him in his stall, fed and Hayed him then we hit the hay to get some sleep.
Indian caves state park is a beautiful park to camp and relax, it is a absolutely beautiful park. There is a lot to see at the park.
We didn't have a real good trip from the time we got to Nebraska though. I have always wanted to ride Kansas at indian caves and I didn't ever get the chance to throw a leg over his back the whole time we was there. The wind was horrible the whole time we was there. There was storms one night and we was in tornado warnings told to take shelter. That was scary!!!!!! We was in Nebraska for 14 days and then we headed to Lexington, Mo to spend a couple days with Halee and Sophia. On the way down there I got lost and it took me 5 hours to make a 2 hour drive. Finally got to Jamies where Kansas was being pastured at about 10 pm that night. We unloaded Kansas and headed to Halee's. We planned to go trail riding the next day and we woke up it was freezing cold and wind was blowing horrible. We did get to go to a fun car show while we was there and seen some pretty cool old cars. We was at Halee's for 3 days then headed to Arkansas thats when the real nightmare began. We got to Eben's dads at about 10 pm we unloaded Kansas and decided to tie him to the trailer for the night with hay and water then head to horsehead lake the next day. At about 1 am we heard a knock at the door and I was told Kansas had gotten loose and was about a mile up the highway. So I had to ride up where he was with the guy that found him and walk him back to Michaels, then I put him in the trailer for the rest of the night. We got up the next morning and headed to horsehead lake to set up camp cause Robert was going to be there that night and we wanted to be all set up when he got there. Robert got there that evening and we were settled into camp. Well it stormed really bad that night and flooded the low water crossing that we had to cross to get out of camp. That low water crossing is the only way out of the camp we was in except by horseback. WELL that morning I was letting Kansas graze and one of the dogs spooked him by running up behind him and barking, at that time Kansas took off up the hill. Kansas has rode the trails at horsehead lake thousands of times cause horsehead lake is our old stomping grounds it is right by our old farm. So Kansas took off down the trail and I knew he was headed for our old farm but I could not get out to meet him there. He crossed the water no problem at all and he was gone. I contacted the neighbor at the old farm and she watched for him to show up, in about a hour she text me and told me Kansas was there just grazing. He went home!!! We had to wait until that evening and the water finally went down enough my husband could get us across the low water. so we went to the old farm and got him and took him down to the arena and put him in a stall. We knew there was no way to get our horse trailer out to go get him so we had to leave him in the stall for a day. Then we finally got the horse trailer out and went and got him. We headed up to our daughters in Jasper, Arkansas following the GPS that got me lost in Missouri (she lives in the boondocks) . The GPS told us to turn on a dirt road and like a idiot I done it. WELL that was not a smart thing to do. We was trying to get turned around and I jack knifed the trailer too far and bam the back window shattered. I ended up backing out of that road about 2 miles we got back to town and contacted Sam to get directions to her house from where we was. She came and met us and we followed her into her house (Im not kidding it was in the boondocks) We got to her driveway and that was a nightmare to get into with a 3 horse gooseneck trailer. We finally got into the driveway got the trailer parked and went inside. We had company the following day one of Roberts nieces that I had never met. We had a wonderful visit and really enjoyed the day. Sam and Roger fixed a really good diner for us all and we ate and visited all day. I absolutely love Sam and Rogers farm it is so peaceful and beautiful. After being at Sam's for 2 days We decided to go back to horsehead lake and stay so off we went back down to the river valley. We got to horsehead lake and set up camp for the night this was on a Sunday. On Monday morning I woke up and told the boys pack your stuff we are heading to Idaho today Im done with this trip and Im going home. Our trip home was good and I was sooooooo thankful to get back to Idaho. Needless to say I only got to ride Kansas for about 45 minutes the whole trip but he was a trooper the whole time. Maybe someday I can plan a trip and it will actually be a nice peaceful trip but for awhile Kansas and I will ride the mountains here at home in Idaho and enjoy each other. NO MORE LONG TRIPS FOR AWHILE FOR KANSAS AND I!!! Ill be sharing pic's of our adventures right here at home soon though. For now I am signing off, hope everyone has a awesome day.

Happy Anniversary to us

Robert and I  are saying Hi from TMR (Tangled Mane Ranch)

Robert and I want to say Hello from Tangled Mane Ranch. September 29th is our 1 year wedding anniversary. We are excited that we get to spend that weekend With dad, Teresa and Phil. We have a birthday party planned for dad's birthday which is the 27th.We are so excited to go it can't get here quick enough.
I've not been doing any riding this summer at all. I am hoping by the time we get home from dad's it will be cool enough I can start riding. Kansas and I need some time together. I feel so bad i have not spent hardly any time with my horses. I have been pretty weak since December when my depression sent me spiraling down. I tell you mental illness is not a joke folks its real and will effect your whole body. It tears your whole body down and stomps on it. I am so thankful I have such a awesome hubby and a couple awesome grandsons that has stuck by my side through all of it. I just don't know how I would do it without them. God has truly blessed me. I also have a couple of friends that have been there for me and called or text to check on my through this whole thing. They do not treat me any different than they always have. They are two amazing women in my life.
I am looking forward to fall and holiday decorating this year. I'm looking forward to spending the holidays with loved ones and friends.

Happy Fall Ya'll

Night talks with my Hero Kansas

Tonite about 10 pm installed out the door to see what precious and ginger was barking at and I seen my Kansas standing out along the driveway. I thought to myself it been a few days since Kansas and I had just had a talk. So I walked down too him and started petting his face and just talking to him. Just what ever came to mind I was telling him. How much i loved him and appreciated him carrying me for thousands of miles safely down the trail. He truly is my hero! I told him how I know he loves trail riding and how I have been neglecting him for the past 2years by not riding him and spending trail time with him. I promised him this fall we will hit the trails again, just like we use to! We will camp, we will compete, but most of all we will spend time together doing what we both love Trail Riding! I looked deep into his beautiful brown eyes and seen the speak his silent words "I'm so happy to have you back Mom"! You see I've been neglecting my hero and I seen his loneliness in his eyes. Well my heart sank just like it did the day him and I made that bond for life, I knew I had let him down, I knew he loved me with all 900 pound he is. So tonite I made a promise to the big beautiful beast, Even if it's hotter than Hatti outside or 20  below zero I will c

Been a long time

Well here it is the middle of 2019 and I want to start blogging again. I have not posted on here for a couple years. I will do a quick run down on what has been going on the past couple years. When I got my divorce from Don in April 2016 I was blessed to be out of that type of situation. I was riding Kansas a lot and spending time with him. Then I let life take over. I started dating someone and moved to Missouri for about 9 months. While in Missouri I was not able to do much riding.i moved back to Arkansas in July of 2017. I went back to my job at Workmans Travel Center in Ozark and met the Man of my dreams. He is a absolutely awesome man. I sure wish I could have met him years ago. We got married September 29th, 2018.
Since I came back to Arkansas I have not rode much I just have not got back into the swing of it I guess. I feel bad cause I feel like I have let my horses down. They like spending time with me and trail riding. I am working back up to riding like I did before. I will get there soon. I not only have Kansas not I also have a QH Mare named Florida Star her registered name is Martha Is Right. She is a buckskin and is absolutely beautiful. I will be getting  back to riding at least 3 days a week soon and when I do I will share our pic's and ride with you all. I will Even blog rides with Florida on here.
For not I am going to sign off and say Happy Trails.
